Screen Flicker/Blackout on Dell R5400 with DMS 59 connector to Dell Fx100 and dual 23" Monitors

I have a Dell E5400 workstation with basic NVIDIA Quadro®  NVS 290, this is connected to my network and Dell Fx100(pcoip device) then connected to Dual 23" monitors.  The problem is that the screens will flicker sometimes for long periods, 3 seconds maybe, randomly.  I have tried direct connecting and Remote desktop etc works fine, so the issue is with either the network, the Fx100 or the cabling or something, I cant set refresh rate past 60Hz either.
This problem is annoying and any help is appreciated!
Cheers

60Hz is pretty standard for a flatscreen.

Is there a desktop lamp near the monitor cables? I've had interferences from such a lamp and from a nearby heater before. Otherwise I'd say it's a bad cable.

Tried multiple cables, all same issue, its not really interfearance, the screen just goes blank for like 2 -3 seconds every so often, changed resolution, all sorts of stuff,  however it works on a v v low resolution,  but its capable of 1900 x 1200.

Does it happen on both monitors at the same time? Also, does it happen if you only use one monitor?

Did you try updating the graphics card drivers?

Maybe the card is bad, you could try a benchmark like FurMark (http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/) to see if it happens under load, but take care, if your card is not properly cooled this could overheat it. Declining all responsibility.

I have tried it using just one monitor, still happens!  Updated the Gfx drivers to most recent, rolled back to previous ones etc etc.  Same problem.
Something i noticed which is irrelevant is that Skype 4.1 totally messes up this setup!  I mean the screen turns completely off!

But back to the problem, yeah I tried different cables, and sorry to only mention this now, this happens on multiple workstations, I am setting up 4 of them, all same issue!
Dell are suggesting taking one back and testing it themselves.

One of the strangest problems I came across ever

It is unclear what the soution is. Did you pin point the source of the problem? I have the same issue here Dell E5400 workstation only one 19 inch display per FX100. All FX100 exhibit the same behavior.

Please update.

Thanks,
