installing McAfee Antivirus on Windows 7

We are using McAfee ePO 4.0 and are wanting to both deploy and install McAfee across several machines which have recently been updated with Windows 7 Professional.

We have updated our ePO to have the new patch which enables us to do this but the last when we deployed McAfee, we only saw the agent and not the actual software.

Can someone please provide step-by-step instructions on how we can do this...

Many thanks,

    Both guides you mentioned are not deployed installations, they are done from the users perspective. We are trying to deploy McAfee using ePO.

    Accepted Solution

    The deployment and update tasks do not have any information for the Windows 7 platform.  This information is only populated when the correct extention that supports Windows 7 is installed in the ePO Master Repository.
    Obtain the latest Extension for your version of the McAfee Agent. The current versions at the time of publishing are:

        * McAfee Agent 4.5 (
        * McAfee Agent  4.0 (
