Norton Ghost, systems stop and (x:\windows\system32>echo off)

While trying to ghost, the systems stop and say;

 x:\windows\system32>echo off

Tops of screen says:

(x:\windows\system32\cmd.exe - startnet.cmd)

Tried a different cd, tried different network cable, tried booting again, with the same result.
Two computers ghosted and worked fine in the room, and the others all say the above error. Any ideas?

I've had almost the exact same problem. Very curious to hear the solution.

Could you clarify what is a bootable media you are using? It look like WinPE bootable CD, correct? The problem might be that startnet.cmd takes a while (sometimes 3-5 minutes) before it will be able to start WinPE network components. Or the network card is a very new model and WinPE has no driver for this model.

We waited more than 10 minutes and still nothing.
Our solution was to then erase the hard drive with the restore cd, and then did the Ghost cd.

Did you have Identical hardware between the working and non-working PC's? Usually it is the NIC drivers

Some of the machines needed their hard drives wiped a few more times, but now all is well and in wokring condition.
