Iphone exchange stopped working

I have a client with exchange 2003 and many iphones working, one iphone has started downloading and showing the 1-2 days before todays mail then goes blank and says cannot get mail, the connection to the server has failed. This user has been fine for over a year and I have tryed the acount on another iphone with the same out come so i know its not the phone. the user does have a very large mailbox and im not sure if theres any limit to the iphones exchange client or if its timeing out due to many many emails. Thanks for any input.

You have run some good checks and ruled out the iPhone as the problem and as Activesync works for all others, this points to the Exchange database as the problem.
Please dismount the store that this user sits in and run the following:
eseutil /p
eseutil /d
isinteg -s servername -fix -test alltests
Run isinteg as many times as it takes to see 0 errors and 0 fixes in the last line of the tools output.
Then mount the store and re-test Activesync for this user.
eseutil will run at about 4-6gb per hour, so if you have a large database, it will be offline for several hours and you may want to run it out of hours.
Alternatively, if you happen to have Exchange 2003 Enterprise, you can move the users mailbox from one store to another which will have the same effect as all the above.
