Exchange 5.7.1 You do not have permission to send to this recipient

I have seen the classic you do not have permission to send to this recipient error before.  However, I have never seen it followed up with a domain.com address not supported.  Here is the entire NDR....

user@destdomain.com
You do not have permission to send to this recipient.  For assistance, contact your system administrator.
    <mail.mydomain.org #5.7.1 smtp;550 5.7.1 <user@destdomain.com>...destdomain,com address not supported>

Any ideas  you can throw my way would be great.

NDR's may look different because different mail servers generate them.

Need some backgroup, is this an internal user sending outbound or someone trying to email your organisation? Any smarthosts involved? Has this just started happening?

have you checked you are not on a blacklist / have you checked you have a valid reverse DNS?

That was it.  Didn't even think to check that.  The new error scattered my brain.
