Exporting Mailbox to PST, Exchange 2007

My goal is to export a mailbox from an exchange 2007 server to a pst file from the powershell remotely.

If I try and run the command export-mailbox -identity <mailboxname> -pstfolderpath <path> on the exchange server the error is

You are running on a 64-bit computer. To export to or import from a .pst file, you must be running a 32-bit computer that has Outlook 2003 SP2 or later installed.

So I setup a 32bit vista laptop with exchange 2007 management tools installed on it, by downloading the 32bit exchange 2007 and installing the tools in xp sp2 compat. mode.  Then I fully patched the machine and when I run the command export-mailbox it doesn't have a -pstfolderpath switch.

Does anyone know how to make this work?

Are you running the command as a user with Exchange admin rights?

Yes.  I do not get any access denied errors.  The command export-mailbox running on my windows vista 32bit machine with powershell and all of the other exchange 2007 pre-reqs and exch 2007 management pack installed and running the exchange powershell does not have the same switches that I'm getting on the server.

export-mailbox -identity <mailboxname> -pstfolderpath <exportdestination>

but I don't get the -pstfolderpath switch, why?

What happens when you try to use the switch, does it give any error?  when you say it does not have the switch I am not sure what you mean?

If you run from exchange management shell what happens

Export-Mailbox -Identity joe@example.com PSTFolderPath C:\Temp\joe.pst

If I try and run the export-mailbox from the vista32 machine and specify -pstfolderpath it gives this error:

export-mailbox: a parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'pstfolderpath'

if I do a get-help export-mailbox on the vista machine it doesn't have the same output as when I run it on the server.  The cmdlet shows that it has the -pstfolderpath on the server, but on the vista machine it doesn't.  My tools are wack.

Are you logging in as the same user on the server and vista machine?

Try re-installing at least Exchange 2007 SP1 on the XP workstation. -PSTFolderPath was not supported with RTM.

You need to install - E2K7SP1EN32.exe
