Access violation error

I have a delphi 5.0 application which uses the video component "CDAVIPlayer". The exe file runs well on some computers and on others it gives me this error message "Access violation to address 7796E13D in module 'ntdll.dll' write of address 00000014" on each time I try to play the video. What is the solution for this problem?

MerijnB was meaning that could be better if you show us your code to play the video, just to look there what could raise the exception

NTDLL.dll is part of the NT kernel and is different on each version of Windows and can change with service packs.

It would be interesting to see what version of the dll is on those systems in which your application/component works vs the version of dll that does not work.

I have a hunch that the component might work on possibly earlier or later versions of Windows unknowingly.

Another cause of ntdll crashes is a corrupt dll.

If your code works well on some computers and not others, there is almost always a versioning issue of some part of the OS OR a permissions issue.

My .02 cents anyway.

At Least I knew it was a problem of the component I'm using and it crashes in some versions of OS...
I was using Dream Company DCAVIplayer...
Any body know which component (free) best and simplest available to run divx in delphi 5.0?
