Tribox sip trunk registration

I have setup a fresh install of  tribox 2.8.03. I am having trouble trying to register with a voip provider. I go the menu to "add a sip trunk". I follow the direcion provided by provider. These setting work okay when using a soft phone ( x lite). but I cannot get the tribox to register. Ihave setup the rules in the firewall to forward ports 5060 and 10000-20000 to the tribox. My extension work great from the local network and remote networks as well.  When I want to call out, it says an error has occured.   Need Help!

try to set your Peer Details as

username=xxxxx
type=friend
trunk=yes
secret=yyyyy
qualify=yes
nat=yes
insecure=very
host=voip.someprovider.com
disallow=all
context=from-sip-external
allow=ulaw

...
if this doesn't solve it

get into your asterisk CLI
and send logs appear there once your try to call

Great Job!    memo tnt

When I was copying the log file to send it to, I found the problem. changed the DNS to IP and it works great. I will further look into it.  Thanks alot..!

How certain are you that Trixbox has not registered - is it just that you cannot make outbound calls or do you have evidence that it has not registered? (To check, you can use the CLI command "sip show registry" or some providers will show if a device is currently registered to your account when you login on their web-based user interface).

To be able to make outbound calls via a VoIP service provider using Trixbox you have to configure the SIP trunk and you must also create an Outbound Rule. Have you done the outbound rule?

Hi feptias:
     Thanks for commenting. I have an outbound rule and I was able to make calls outside. It is also logging it into my voip provider's cdr( the outgoing calls).   Thanks for the CLI command tip.
