I have windows 2003 R2 x64 Sp2 (member server) with exchange 2007 (Version 8.1 build 240.6) installed, and i need to promote this server as Domain controller.

Can you help me with the steps to follow or what to be aware before dcpromo.

    Accepted Solution

If the server currently has exchange on it then you need to remove exchange before you can promote it.

    There is no other way.

You CANNNOT do this without breaking exchange.

You shouldn't promote or demote a server with exchange installed on it.
