I need to reset a Cisco ME 3400 switch back to factory defualts.  The old admin left no notes!  I can break before the flash loads and get to the switch: prompt, but I don't know where to go from there.

    At the switch: prompt, type
    dir flash:

you'll see the config file. Type
    delete flash:[config file name]

and it should come up clean.

Connect to the switch console port

Power off the switch, and reconnect the power cord to the switch

    when you see this message
***** The system will autoboot in 5 seconds *****
Send a break key to prevent autobooting.
enter the break key on the console terminal
the switch will boot ,, after that enter the following

    switch: flash_init
      switch: load_helper
    switch: rename flash:config.text flash:config.text.old
    switch: boot

You are prompted to start the setup program. Enter N at the prompt:   Continue with the configuration dialog? [yes/no]: N

    go the enable mode

    Switch> enable

and enjoy change upon your need

if you need to go back the x-configuration

    Switch# rename flash:config.text.old flash:config.text

    Switch# copy flash:config.text system:running-config
    Source filename [config.text]?
    Destination filename [running-config]?
    Switch (config)# enable secret password
