Visual studio 2008 keeps lockng up after I go into a project, Anyone klnow what I can do or what I may have missed in the setup

When i open Visual studio 2008 and open an existing project I can work on the project for a while but if i walk away and come back in five minutes I find the whole Visual studio app frozen and the only way to close is with the task manager.  Has anyone found the solution to this problem.?

    i had this problem,
    is it every time the same project
    yes: make an new project and copy the contend of old to the new.
    it work't for me

    Thanks you. I found on another solution which said  to take off the read-only from the attribute of the project folder. I made the change to the project fold and so far so good. but you never know
