I have been struggling with a problem for a while with Crystal Reports and ACT 2009 Premium. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several time. I have turned off my AV and reinstalled. I have done everything I know to do. I was told by an ACT support person that I needed to do this. However the install of ACT 2009 Premium is supposed to create the ACT OLE DB Provider for Reporting. Thus letting me connect to the ACT data with Crystal Reports Developer.

I use Vista Business and McAfee Total Protection. Can anyone davise me how to get that darn ACT OLE DB Provider for Reporting to show up so I can build a Datasource. I have no more hair to rip out.!

Gentlemen both of the links you sent helped but I had to do one more step in order to get this done. Here is what I did.
I ran the ACTDIAG.EXE tool to enable the ACT OLE DB Provider for Reporting. Once it was on, I had to install Crystal Reports Developer from the demo download from the website. The client does not have CRD. They have the Crystal Reports Viewer only. They wanted the report to run on the viewer on their personal machine. So we built the report and then did the above. Since we had enabled the ACT OLE DB Provider for Reporting Crystal could then open the report and redirect the datasource location which was originally on my machine to the new location which the viewer can use. So the above information was helpful but you have to have the CRD in order to solve this delimma. Thank you for your help.

i haven't got the ACT! Installation. I do not wish to install it. I do not possess the ACTDIAG.exe.

All i wish to do is view the data in readonly mode. This simply requires an OLE DB provider added to the windows ODBC manager.

Can ACT do this?

You really should ask a new question.  SInce this one is over 2 years old, it will not get the activity a new question will.

Did you check the ACT site for and ODBC or OLE data connection/provider
