CRM Error Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Hi

I am experiencing an error with a new CRM 4.0 installation.  I have completed the installation successfully. When I try to log in to the CRM, I receive the sign in page. After sign in, I receive this error. Can anybody provide any assistance on the error or what I should do to get more information? Thanks for your help

If this is an on-premise installation on your own server, you shouldn't receive a sign-in page. CRM normally uses your windows credential for authentication.

Two things to check (though I don't think they are that relevant to the error message):

- is your windows account a CRM user?
- have you added the CRM URL to either Local Intranet or Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer?

Also, you could try adding another Windows account to CRM to see if the problem is due to a specific user account.

Thanks for the feedback. I ended up reinstalling the server and worked fine the second time around. Not sure why this happened. THanks
