windows 7 editing host file

I need to change the host file in my Windows 7 pc.
My username has Adminnistrator rights but I am unable to do it.
Help appreciatted.

UAC is limiting alot of things in Windows 7, have you tried this:

Hello voipccs

COPY the hosts file on your desktop
change content as your want with the notepad
COPY back to original folder (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc)

If the link pointed to by oferam works, great. All you have to do is turn UAC off (even if temporarily) and the Hosts file is then easy to edit. I edit mine whenever I need to on my Windows 7 Pro machine.

Simply go to Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change User Account Control.  .... Thinkpads_User
