I have an existing organization running Exchange 2007 with an internet facing CAS server.  During my testing phase of Exchange 2010, I have installed a CAS server, created a new DNS name for it and installed a valid SSL certificate.  I am attempting to verify that I can automatically be directed from the new CAS server to my legacy cas server so that my transition can be done over a period of several days.  However, when I login to the OWA running on the Exchange 2010, I am redirected to the internal DNS name of the legacy CAS server.  I have verified that the legacy and new CAS servers also have their internal and external web addresses specified correctly.

For redirection from Ex 2010 CAS to ex 2007 CAS you will have to set legacy URL on 2010 CAS.

Perfect!  That worked.  You'd think though if it were smart enough to redirect to the alternate CAS server internal address, it would be smart enough to read the external address and redirect there if a client request is coming from external.
