Toshiba Portege Video Card Driver Problem

I cannot get an external monitor to work with my Toshiba Portege R200-S234 laptop. Nothing happens when I hook up another monitor. when I go to the settings on the desktop it does not show me anything about a monitor being hooked up. When I go to device manager the video controller has a yellow question mark showing that it does not have the video drivers installed.

After trying numerous times of getting the video card drivers for my laptop I'm now going to ask the Experts Exchange community to help me with this matter. Mostly what I could find is recovery CDs which I'm really not interested in. I simply want the video card drivers as I believe that is what my problem is. If you have any other suggestions on what it could be, feel free to share.

What OS do you have? Do you plug the external monitor before turning on the notebook or after?

Sorry for not responding earlier. I was away from the computer. The OS is XP Pro SP3. I've tried both connecting the monitor after XP loaded and I've plugged in the monitor while the laptop was shut down and started it. I never had success with either.

Is 915GMS the video card on the laptop? I was not able to find those details.

This is your graphics driver

Also ensure you have the Toshiba Display Device Change Utility for Windows XP/2000 installed

If you are missing either it is worth going to the Portege home page to reinstall the system drivers and utilities
I've assumed XP here - if you need a different OS then again use the Portege home page and select the version you need.
