How to get going with virtualization - starting instructions

I have the server but I need a short instructions to get things right from the beginning! Any tips?

What type of virtualization are you going to run? If you are going to run Hyper-v then you need to make sure that your server supports Hyper-v within the bios.

If it is just Virtual server 2005 then you need to install an OS then install the Virtual Server app.

I have a good server with Microsoft server 2008 R2. I will use Hyper-V.
