i got an issue in openfiler.as i'm linux newbie i need some help here guys.

i have renamed the openfiler volume using lmrename command.
but after renaming the volume, i couldn't see the volume in web gui interface under volumes, but when i try using console i could see the volume is still there and with the new name.how can i see the renamed volume under web interface under volumes...

The missing volume name that is from web interface is: os-on-openfiler

[root@openfiler ~]# lvdisplay

  VG Name                storage

  LV Write Access        read/write
  LV Status              available
  # open                 0

  Segments               1
  Allocation             inherit
  Read ahead sectors     auto
  - currently set to     256
  Block device           253:0

  --- Logical volume ---
  LV Name                /dev/storage/backup
  VG Name                storage
  LV UUID                t02C4P-3a63-saU8-LDXf-O63a-Vwd6-SJnHCr
  LV Write Access        read/write
  LV Status              available
  # open                 1
  LV Size                2.00 TB
  Current LE             65536
  Segments               1
  Allocation             inherit
  Read ahead sectors     auto
  - currently set to     256
  Block device           253:1

[root@openfiler ~]#
[root@openfiler ~]# lvs
LV              VG      Attr   LSize   Origin Snap%  Move Log Copy%  Convert
  backup          storage -wi-ao   2.00T
  os-on-openfiler storage -wi-a- 200.00G

as you can see os-on-openfiler status is not open(not mounted). i don't know why?how i can see this volume in web interface

when i try mounting : this is what i get

[root@openfiler ~]# mount /dev/storage/os-on-openfiler
mount: can't find /dev/storage/os-on-openfiler in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

many thanks

As the mount command indicates:

> [root@openfiler ~]# mount /dev/storage/os-on-openfiler
> mount: can't find /dev/storage/os-on-openfiler in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

You'll need to add  /dev/storage/os-on-openfiler under /etc/fstab. I guess you must have an entry with the old name there.

Hi KeremE,
I fixed this problem.the reason it was not showing under web interface is because it is missing the volume details in a xml configuration file.i have manually added the volume details in the xml configuration file.

step one: edit the xmlfile and add the volume details as <volume> ............ </volume>

#vi /opt/openfiler/etc/volumes.xml

step two: add the missing volume details manually as another entry.

Many thanks
