Blackberry miniUSB port loose

Hello -

Anyone know how to fix it?  I think this is Blackberry 8xxx series where it has that miniUSB on the side for power and sync.  That USB port is very loose and need to really wingle it to get connected to power the device.

is there a way to fix it?   Replace part or just get a new one?

Thanks!

Annoyingly it's a bit of a design fault on this series.
Eventually they fail to charge.
If you have a service contract they will probably replace it.
For such a simple fix I've yet to find any instructions :(

There is no fix as such for this hardware issue. If the device is under warranty it should be replaced under the RMA.

Even if it isn't under warranty, go to a local store for that carrier and jump up and down on the counter....they might give you a replacement for free.

LOL @ jar3817 - Direct action - I like it!

Seriously this is a known design bug - whoever you take it to will be aware that you're not alone with this and that without the port you are stuck with recharging the battery out of the BB and having to back-up using Bluetooth - neither of which are practical.

Actually I found another solution -- cradle.  With cradle it's contacting thos golden pins on the back of the device and bypasses the USB port.

Your warranty solution is also a valid one though!  Thank you!
