We have a CF web page that shows data retrieved from SQL db.
If we make changes to the data in db, the page after refreshing shows updated info.
It was working fine until recently when we notice that any changes made to the data in the db are not on the page. What is confusing that it works perfect with Firefox, but not with IE.
We tried to bypass the cache with following lines:
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="no-cache">
No change. We tried to change IE setting. Nothing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

I have never gotten consistant results using the <META ...> tags to control caching.

If memory serves CF does ASP.  If so, try adding this to the top of the page: (before any output occurs)

<%
' no browser caching of this page !! to be used on all pages
Response.Expires=-1
Response.ExpiresAbsolute = Now() - 1

' do not allow proxy servers to cache this page !! to be used on all pages
Response.CacheControl="private"
Response.CacheControl="no-cache"
Response.CacheControl="no-store"
%>

If it really is a cache problem, do you get the correct results if you manually refresh the page in IE?

Does IE show the correct results if it is closed and reopened?

If the cache control statements make no difference, it could be the history settings in IE itself.  Try making it check for a new version of the page on every visit, rather than the default automatically setting.

Regards,
Rod

Thank you for the response.
We actually found out what is wrong. The problem was with the certain db records and it fixed.
However, it is still strange that even with this corrupted record, why this page worked fine inFirefox and not in IE.
Anyway thank you again.
