AS400 QNTC session initialization error

QNTC link from AS400 to Windows 2k3 server suddendly stopped working.  QNTC is configured to correct WINS environment and the server is visible from a command line (WRKLNK) and OpsNav IFS browse.  Cannot see subfolders that are configured for sharing.  Folder permissions are set for the Everyone group.   AS400 profile and Windows AD profile are the same and the passwords are synchronized.   Tried stopping/restarting Iseries Netserver.  Used QZLCTRC trace tool, can see references to target W2k3 server, but no other information that helps.   Receive error Session initialization error with Network Server GCNCSM7001T.   Detailed error message of Technical description . . . . . . . . :   An error code 110 was received while
  trying to initialize a session to the Network Server GCNCSM7001T.

Assuming that is a Windows file system error number the "110" means "Unable to open the device or file specified.

Check the event log on the Windows server (security, especially), and see this article:


Also, perform the QZLCTRC and post the results (mask out any addresses, user ids, passwords, etc.):

Determined link worked when using native IP address instead of server alias.   Had Windows administrator update WINS information for server---fixed the issue.
