How do I catalog a backup in Server 2008 Server backup?

I used  Windows 2008 R2 server backup to backup a 2008 installation to an ESATA drive. Later the original system drive was lost and was replaced with a blank drive on which a fresh install
of 2008 R2 was done. However, when I go into the fresh install and try to recover the backup from the ESATA drive the restore software doesn't find the/can't access the backup on the ESATA drive though I can see it on the drive.
How do I recover? Is there a way to tell Server backup where the backup files are? Is there a way to catalog the backup?

You can click on browse button, it will pop up a default backup if it is not your backup, click on browse again to select from your ESATA drive.
