Lenovo S10e Ideapad netbook and 3 Mobile Connect Issue

I have a clients brand new Lenovo Ideapad S10e netbook and they have purchased a 3 MObile connect device.
After it is installed and when we try to start the software to connect to the service an error box comes up saying "To run this application, the resolution of the screen should be not less than 800X600"
The set resolution on the Lenovo netbooks is 1024X576.

Surely this is a fixable issue, otherwise it would make it laughable having a portable netbook, without being able to connect ot he net!!

Has anyone heard of this one and know a fix for it?

Any upgrades to the software you are trying to install? Have you tried downloading fresh software from the manufacturer's site? Who is the ISP & what type of Dongle you are trying to connect? Please post a link to the ISP's site & the model number / make of device you are trying to connect. Is it that you are trying to access 3G services via a USB Dongle of huawei?

What is the Operating system installed?

Are you getting this message in Internet Explorer or some separate Flash application (like the autorun of CD menus)?

Too many questions from my side? Sorry!

Maybe we could find a way to connect to internet without using your ISP's Software.

Ravi.

Sorry I should have elaborated for you.  It is the 3 Mobile service in Australia.

The modem is a Huawei E220 model.  I have updated the software from the 3 website.  Updating the connection manager and firmware actually reset the modem.  I was able to figure out how to create the profile again.
The message comes up as you connect the USB modem (E220).  When you connect it the software is supposed to start but the message comes up instead.  I have seen elsewhere on the Internet other having this issue, and they say it is the connection manager software.  Huawei are meant to be correcting this, but I have not been able to get the latest software from their website to work.
What I have done is create a manual dial-up connection to the 3 Service for now.  It connects without the need for the software.  Not the ideal set-up but I am unable to get the software to work.
The manual connection works fine.

Link to the 3 Mobile website is below.  The device I am using is second from bottom

Since it works, I guess you should not be bothered with installing the software. Anyways, I too am the type of person who just wants to make it work, even if it doesn't want to!

Try the following workarounds -

Select the Icon >> Right click for Properties >> Select Compatibility Mode >> Check mark  Run in 640*480 resolution >> Ok & test.

It it does not work, temporarily Lower your screen resolution and see if the application is willing to install. Reset after successful install.

One thing is that the Lenovo netbook will not change resolution at all. It will only stay on 1024x576. I have updated video software as well

Now that is getting extreme  **joking**

Press F8 on boot. You will get various other options other than booting normally. Select Boot into Safe mode. That should give you a lower resolution or you can try the VGA mode too.

Hi all
Turns out becuase the modem was a couple of years old, the software on it could not run the 1024X576 resolution.  It spread across a normal screen quite a bit so running the 3software on the netbook was impossible.  I set it up manually and the connection works fine
