how to replace random tabs to fill out the full width of a column

i have an text file that contains data separated by tabs.

Every line of the text file, contains a certain article followed by a tab, and then a summary of the pages where this article can be found in the catalog.

This content is as follows :

article1<tab>25,85,89
anotherarticle<tab>235
article3<tab>45,89,115,89,111,119
super_long_article_very_longname<tab>99,55

the name of the article can off course vary in length, but is always followed by a tab and then followed by the pages where the article is found. The quantatity of the number of pages can also vary.

I have a fixed column where i want the place the content of the text file in.  i want that the page nr's are outlined to the right side of the column (everything behind the tab), and the article's name outlined to the left side of the column.

note : If it is possible to fill up the space in between with "............" or "______________" this would be an extra bonus.

is this possible ?
