customizing the Lotus Notes 8.0.2 installation process

I am trying to customize the installation process and have run into two hurdles.

1 - I can't find out how to remove the tick from the 'Make Lotus Notes your default email cllient'
and
2 - I can't find out how to adjust the feature list items below 'Notes Client'. I am particularly interested in have the DECS and Modem Files options disabled by default.

So far I have followed the instructions for 'Reducing the Notes Install Kit size'.

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/topic/com.ibm.help.domino.admin.doc/DOC/H_REDUCING_NOTES_STANDARD_INSTALL_KIT_SIZE_STEPS.html

This removed the Lotus Symphony, Sametime and Composite Application Editor choices.

I then manually tweaked the install.xml to remove the Activities option.

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/topic/com.ibm.help.domino.admin.doc/DOC/H_CUSTOMIZING_NOTES_8_INSTALL_FOR_ISV_OR_THIRD_PARTY_ECLIPSE_FEATURES_9460_OVER.html

However on neither of these pages are there instructions on how to change the default state of the items below 'Notes Client'. I am particularly interested in have the DECS and Modem Files options disabled by default. And there is no mention of how to change the default state of the tickbox regarding the setting of Lotus Notes as the default email client.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks,
Paul

Found this somewhere:

For v8.5, to disable pop up window which propose to set Lotus Notes as default email client just add in [INSTALLDIR]notes.ini parameter DontCheckDefaultMail=1

See http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=1221 , Notes (7 Entries)

Just my $0.02...

Not really, except that the line can be anywhere in the notes.ini file.

Ah, it works, great.

About your next question: in my dictionary, "slightly" and "totally" aren't synonyms... I think you'd better as a new question, so you'll attract the right audience.

sorry to put a dampener on things but your solution didn't work so I had to do things completely differently - hence using the installshield
i am a newbie here - can i give you some points for trying but not all of them as the suggested fix didn't work ?
That's why I asked for the 2 cents only. Honestly, if you think I didn't supply even part of the solution, don't reward me. To close the question and keep it for posterity, you can accept your own answer if you want to.
