Cannot print from any adobe applications to our Xerox 7328.

Thanks in advance.

Not a Mac pro, so I need some help.

An employee uses the only Mac in the building (graphic artist so she just HAD to have a Mac :D ), will not print to our Xerox 7328 WorkCenter from any adobe application.  I've tried a slew of drivers to no avail.

This is one of those issues that will make me loose my hair trying to fix (if I don't tear it out first).

Again, thanks so much.

EDIT:  Sorry forgot specs:  iMac 7.1, OSX 10.5.8

Are you saying that she can print from other applications?

Yup.  I know, it's crazy.  She can print from any other application, in all formats, and with full functionality.  Just not Adobe Photoshop.  It does nothing.  I am going to gather some more information when I can convince my boss to let me kick her of the computer.  In the mean time, if anyone has ever encountered this, you input would be greatly appreciated.
Does it give an error? Or does it appear to be working but nothing prints?

It definitely pretends to print.  When the job is submitted to the 7328 it appears to have been sent, but nothing prints.
Can another user on he mac, ie an administrator or any other account successfully print from an adobe application?

Caity:

There is only one user; elevating privileges did not solve the issue.
Try deleting

/User/(username)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs.plist

and then reboot. Does it resolve?

Can you also attempt to add another printer and see if it can print there?

I cannot get on the employees Mac at the moment, as she is working on whatever it is she does.  I will try this and get back to you.  Thanks very much.
No problem.

Can you be specific about the type of document she is printing? Maybe it is a postscript issue with that printer.

Because the employee still won't let me on her computer (*sigh, she answers to the owner) I instructed her prepare a report.  The details of the issue are listed below:

"For our ***** I wasnt able to print them properly as the printer alignment wasnt working. It appears that the scale and centre option isnt working.  I had to open the original working file and keep tweaking the scale and offset until I was able to print something that was somewhat centered and this print process takes significantly longer to do than a straight print from acrobat.

Here is a breakdown of the different programs:

Photoshop: Cant print any files at all. (never have been able to)
Illustrator: Can print .pdf files. Can sometimes randomly print .ai files. (cant figure out when or why I can sometimes print .ai)
Adobe Acrobat: I can print all PDF files however the alignment and centre isnt working properly.

NOTE: on the printer, in the completed jobs tab, when a file doesnt print it shows as Completed Warning with a yellow check mark next to it."

Update: Finally got some time on the employees workstation.

When I print from Adobe, i get an error message.

It seems you aren't alone in this problem. I'm going to do a little more googling.

See Marshmallow49s post on this page. He seems to have the solution.

GADZOOT! It worked!

I was a little ahead of you.  I tried the comment on the page you provided by Adam Smith2 and it worked.

Removed and re-added the printer, change the queue name to BINPS.

I have no idea why it worked (maybe someone can explain?) but it worked.

Thanks so much caity; you just cured my headache; have a nice day.

Great help; zero complaints.
You need to try using Cups for standards-based, open source printing system developed by Apple.
From your internet browser type the following in the Location

http://localhost:631

from here you can install your new Xerox. Sometime of you dint purchase the MacIntosh Module for this kind of printer you wont be able to install for Mac, or install using Postscripts driver.
