I have a flash ad that has flv video in it. It seems to work fine when I export to a swf until I ad the clicktag ActionScript to it. Here is the clickTag script. Any idea why this would affect the playback of the video in Flash?

on (release) {
getURL(clickTag,"_blank");
}
on (release) {
getURL(clickTag,"_blank");
}

Maybe clickTag should be _root.clickTag ???

I don't know. This is the clickTag the person publishing the ad said I should use. Would a _root.clickTag work better with video?

What is the difference in the code? Do I just replace "_blank" with "_root"?

Okay. I tried to upload a zip file containing the flash, swf, and video files, but it wouldn't let me. Here is a link if you could download the files and look at them for me. The flash file contains the clickTag on the top layer. When you publish that to a swf, instead of video, you get a flashing flv icon. The swf I included shows how it is supposed to look. Let me know what other info I can provide.

No. I just ended up using still photos instead of video. That was the only way I could get it to work. Thanks for all your help though.

Oh, so, it was the case where you were trying to make the video object clickable not the button...  I had no idea...  Yeah, I don't think you can make the video object clickable...  What you can do is to create an invisible button on top of the video object and make that clickable...

At any rate, I'm glad that you found a work-around...  Please close this topic...  Thanks...  ;)

No. I wasn't trying to make the video object clickable. I did make an invisible button on top of the video, but when I did that, the video didn't play for some reason. Anyway, thanks again!
