Hi there,

after installing windows 7 64 bit (clean install) on a HP pavilion dv7 1027a - no SD card is found. I have dowloaded the correct drivers....

Makes no difference. The drivers install correctly, nothing is unknown in the device manager - nothing shows up. There are no problems showing in the devices section either. All seems good with the system - just no SD??

Any ideas on what to check?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers - no difference.

SD cards are hardware based.Windows 7 x64 will usually ignore them (without drivers) but
will actually use them.Just put your card in and check....
These drives are native to x32 so x32 drivers can be used.

If the drive doesn't show up in "My Computer" after you have an SD card in the slot it might be that you need to update your chipset driver in Windows 7. Check to see if you have the latest driver for your chipset. Installing this may allow your drive to show up.

The card has been put in and tested - nothing.

It is the same driver for 32/64 bit

The latest driver for the chipset is also installed.

Thanks for the ideas though.

The problem was with the chipset driver.
