Flash Skin is not showing up when embed into html

Hi experts,

I am trying to embed a flv file into my html and the file name is dynamic according to the db.  I use Flash 8 professional to convert my video file (wmv to flv) and it also generates some html code for embedding.  I paste it in my html and change the swf name since it is dynamic and it is on the other folder.  When I test my html, the swf shows but the skin file does not show.   When I look this Flash generated code, I don't understand why there is no skin file name specified.  Can someone tell me where is it?

I finally get it working.  Since I import the video through flash 8, the skins in there is not compatible with the skins in dreamweaver.  I stick with the flash generated code and put the skin swf file at the same position, then the skin will show up.  The skin swf file does not show up in the code because the skin and the video is emerged and comes up with only one swf file when it is published.  When the html runs the published swf, it will look for the skin swf.  When it is at the same position with the html, it will show up.

I don't understand what skin you are talking about. If you could be more detailed, it will be nice.

Flash skin means the player control that comes with Flash when you convert to flv format.

OK then here's what I am baffled. Since from using Flash MX 2004 to Flash CS4, I have never seen any feature that provides converting a .wmv to .flv. The only product I know that does that that comes with Flash is the Media Encoder, you might want to enlighten me on this.

Do you have a preview page for this?

What files are generated?

Do you actually see the controls that are generated or you haven't seen them?

If you can show me the source files and the steps you took to do this, it will be great because I don't know how Flash converts a .wmv to a .flv and still provides you player controls for that

Hmm adobe calls that a Flash Skin? There may be something I don't know, do you have a link to a page talking about that?

Ah, this is dreamweaver. I should have looked at the zones carefully enough.

Do you have a preview page for your website? Please show me your source files if you can.

I took a look at the tutorial and the skins loaded up fine there.

This is how skins are being referenced:

<param name="FlashVars" value="&MM_ComponentVersion=1&skinName=farmSkin_small&streamName=../videos/cow01&autoPlay=false&autoRewind=false" />

The FlashVars pass the skin to the .swf.

Anyway I still don't get how you convert your .wmv to .flv using Flash but it's not important anyway, if you could answer me this, it will still be good.

If you followed the tutorial correctly, you should get it working.
