I have a sonicwall TZ-190 with a wan and an opt external interface.  The DNS Servers are different for each interface.  I need to setup my DNS Server on the LAN to use the sonicwall as a DNS proxy and as I have load balancing on this firewall the sonicwall will have to forward to the appropriate DNS Server depending on which interface it sends the forwarded request out on.  When I do an nslookup and set the server to the lan interface of the sonicwall I get no reply.  Is this possible?

OK, are you trying to get your AD DNS servers to forward requests to the DNS servers on the different interfaces?

yes, but as the sonicwall is using two different WAN interfaces with different DNS Servers and load balancing outgoing traffic it is difficult to route requests to DNS servers over the correct interface.  I could use routing rules but thought that the sonicwall would have a DNS proxy and take the different interfaces into consideration.

It's ok, I solved this myself, the sonicwall does not have a DNS proxy!!
