The N version is for the EEC anti-trust legisistation and it excluded media player and IE8 (you can add download them as options though !)

     Hi there worded,,,,

In Fact,, ,there are Windows7 E and Windows7 N eidtions and they simply stand for :

E= Europe
N=North America
Due to the legal problems Microsoft faced in europe it was decided to have a special edition( Namely with the E letter ) for Europe which lacks IE8 on it ...... and as the N edition as mentioned above has got no Media Player nor IE8 installed ... Then finally it was decided to avoid consuming the consumers and it was decided to ship the same version of win7 to europe

Best wishes
