Win 7 : where to find installation command in registry

Hello all,

perhaps this is a bit strange but there's something going on my nerves with my laptop. I installed a printer, an HP Office Jet 6480, to my laptop which runs on Windows 7.

At the time I believe there was an installation that failed and I reinstalled the printer which works like a charm now.

However, each time I boot up the system I see a message indicating the the system is installing the printer but then ultimately fails.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I may start to look in the Windows Registry to delete the command that triggers the system to attempt the installation in the first place?  I have had some trouble getting the printer to work so don't necessarily want to uninstall it as I've done something like that before and the instance of a software update was unaffected.

Thanks!
Richard
