We are developing a VB .NET program which does calculations on an MS SQL Server database and affect (select, update, insert) Millions of rows.
Because other alternatives have proven to be too slow, we implemented these jobs as T-SQL procedural code called from withing the VB6 application.
The result is
a) its quite fast now
b) (problem of this case): how can we give some feedback to the user of our application upon the proceeding of the t-sql procedure?
The VB .NET application accesses MS-SQL Server by the ODBC Client and MS ODBC Driver for MS-SQL Server.
Thanks for any hint
