Pros and cons of deploying to the cloud
A site like Friendster is deployed on 37 clustered mySQL servers on a LAMP stack, and serves over a billion queries a day.
Could that just be migrated to Amazon ECS and all done? Can a site with that kind of performance requirement be more easily implemented these days in the cloud?
