http://quickbooksgroup.com/webx/forums/install/2285
and it redirects me to this
http://community.intuit.com/quickbooks
and I have no idea what to do on this page

Thank you.  I am looking forward to the solution.
I am confused.  I have not received any response to my question.  I don't understand how this works.  When I sent my initial request it said I would get an email within 42 minutes, that was almost 4 hours ago.  Do I have to do anything else.  I will not be home for the next 4 hours but I need some kind of help or direction.  THank you.

There is an E-E service that notifies subscribed experts, like me, so that if I have the experience, or the interest, then I can try to help askers.

Is this a C# or VB.NET question?  What .NET version are you using?  What type of application are you working with?
Thank you for your response. I don't know how to answer your question. This problem originally started in Oct 2009 when I upgraded my Quickbooks to Pro 2009. I could not access my account at all. I called Intuit Cust Service and after almost 2 hours on the phone I could then access my account but my computer has not been the same since. The cust service person had me remove some of my .net framework I believe so he could access my computer remotely. What happens now is that 3 of the Windows upgrades for .net framework for 1.1, 2.0 and 3.5 fail to install everytime. I cannot download any of the .net frameworks from the microsoft website. I get "Microsoft .NET Assembly Registration Utility has encountered a problem and needs to close." and "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Program: C;\Program Files\Intuit\Quickbooks 2006\qbw32.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way." I am not even close to computer intelligent and I don't know what to do.
Wow, it looks like you are in a world of hurt!!  I don't have Quickbooks, and I don't know what customer service had you do, and it sounds like a configuration issue.  I can't guarantee any results, but I am not afraid to try.

I guess the first thing, if you can remember, is how you uninstalled the .NET frameworks?
Thank you again for the response. When I use the change/remove button to uninstall .net framework 3.5 sp1 in add/remove programs it goes to the install setup wizard for microsoft .net framework and starts the installation process then says: an error occurred during setup. installed files have been removed from your computer. for known issues and troubleshooting information, see the online Readme. for error information, see Error log.

dd-dotnetfx35error.txt
Also, i can't seem to remove or uninstall anty of the .net framework versions nor can i download any of them from the microsoft site .. basically it says that there is a version already there and i can't do 3 of the updates ... yes a world of hurt!

Thank you, AGAIN! I will try it tomorrow as I don't have time to try it right now.  I will let you know the outcome, but so far you have been most helpful.
As it turned out you were right!  That .net framework tool worked. I contacted Intuit (for Quickbooks) and spent 2 days and approx 6 hours on the phone and with my computer being remotely handled by their tech support ... I had to go up three levels of support ... then when the windows installer went into a loop trying the configure Quckbooks, I was referred to Microsoft tech support and after going three levels and another three hours on the phone and my computer being remotely handled my windows installer was fixed and a myriad of other things, Quickbooks 2009 was removed and when it was reinstalled it automatically reinstalled my .NET framework 2.0 and now everything seems to work just fine and I was even able to run my W-2's!!!! Thank you for your ideas and help.  It was very much appreciated.
As indicated, my computer was in TROUBLE!  The solution offerred was part of the correction but more had to be done by both Intuit tech support (3 levels up) and Microsoft tech support (also 3 levels up)!
