Do we need to upgrade the Boot Loader image on cisco switches
We have a number of 3750, 6500 and 4500 cisco switches.
Would like to upgrade them to latest IOS maintenance release to ensure we have minimised any security vulnerabilities.
Our 3750 switches currently have a Bootloader (ROMMON) image of version 12.1(14r)EA1a.
Would like to upgrade the IOS to c3750-ipservices-mz.122-52 .SE.bin.
Question are:
1. Do we have to upgrade the boot loader image to upgrade the IOS to this version?
2. What are the benefits of upgrading the Bootloader image?
3. If we don't upgrade the boot loader image will this leave us more open to security vulnerabilities?
4. Is there a document/table showing minimum Bootloader image for specific IOS image?
Thanks
