Sound Lagging on a Laptop After Windows 7 Upgrade
I have an older laptop that was recently upgraded to Windows 7. Now that it has been upgraded, it's been having sound issues. The sound lags and pops constantly. Sometimes it will happen right away, sometimes I can play though six songs iTunes before it starts going crazy.
The laptop itself is aViao model number PCG-K45 with a Windows 7 32 bit OS. The audio device is a realtak AC97. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem without downgrading to XP?

The computer was upgraded from XP. Just mentioned down grading as in terms of going back to where the computer once was.
Yes we installed all the new drivers from sony's site.

Thanks for the suggestions Krille71, I checked installed the XP drivers and I also checked the compatibility. The laptop's sound card is compatible and I'm still getting that lag.

We tried getting them from the Realtek site initially. The sounds still lags. It plays sound just fine. But a song for some reason has several spots were it just slows down the playback for 10 to 25 seconds and it picks backup. Can this be a processor issue?

ended up that this computer could not run windows 7 effectively. The compatibilty check siad it would work fine. However once I downgraded to windows XP everything worked well and much faster.
Did you uninstall the sound drivers and reinstall newest one from Sony's?
