VMWare DR scenerio -- needing feedback

I have two companies owned by the same person.  They want to back up to one another.  Each location has a Dell NAS device that does NOT have replication technology.  Both have about 5 LUNS using about 500gb.  Each NAS device has enough space to back up the data at the other location with raid 5 thrown over 12 disks.  I'm liking technology from Veeam, but would also like advice about using VCB to do this.  Anyone with experience on both products.  I've very familiar with Veeam, but like the cost of VCB :).  Sites are connected by a single T1 (that is because we live in podunk USA and ISP's won't bring the fiber in town).

VCB is very economical in local LAN but it doesn't work well tru limited bandwidth
You still need to use replication tech to update changes block by block minimizing bandwidth usage

We use VRanger, and have had good luck with it.

I have used vranger in the past but switched to Veeam for file level restore years ago. Do you use vranger over a wan?

Veeam is not 'expensive' if you think about the cost of the business. If your customer is balking at the expense of Veeam Backup and Replicate and then maybe he shouldn't replicate his data.  Veeam does a good job of replication. We personally use Data Domain Boxes (but this really costs a whole lot of money) but they work and I never really have to administer them!

Ideally you looking for a product that DeDupes before replicating, so that the first sync between the sites will take time, but thereafter the delta changes should be minimal and will not choke your T1 line. Of course the ability to choose replication hours (eg.replicate in off-peak hours) should also be looked for.
