Hi,
I have not researched this thoroughly before posting, so i am hoping that there is something small i have missed.
My Servers
1 x x64 Windows 2003 running exchange 2007 x64
1 x x86 windows 2003 running exch 2007 x32

All are kept patched to the most current level.
I installed exch 2007 sp2 back in december, as i hadn't seen too many posts with sp2 errors so went for it, on x64 box first.
Logging in as enterprise admin, ran the setup, it failed, i swore
Ran it again, it completed successfully.
I ran it on the x86 box, it failed first time up again, second time was the charm.

Since then neither update rollup1 or 2 for exchange sp2 have installed.

All updates fail on my XP (x86) machine too, running the exchange tools.

Any ideas??

Are you using the same account that you used to install Exchange 2007 SP2 which has all the required rights to install the updates

Right click on cmd and say run as administrator and then go to the folder where it lies and then run it from the command prompt, it resolved one of the issues I was facing the same way

Hi ,
Found the problem.
Powershell v2 being installed on the machines.
It came down as an update KB968930, it didn't show in the add/remove programs, with the rest of the updates, so i had to remove it manually.
hklm\software\m$\windows\currentversion\uninstall\kb968930
copy the uninstall string, paste into run and execute, continue past the warnings

viola, the updates now work, have updated XP and x86 server, will wait until a/hrs to do the production x64 server.

Thanks for your help Shivkumar
