Hi,

Is there a way to restrict meeting request/appointment period in Microsoft Exchange2003/Outlook 2003? I have already set the Publish period in the resource Fee/Busy  information Options to 3 months only. However my users seems to be able to still book reccuring bookings over 3 months or with no end date.
Thank you,
Dan

You cannot set a global restriction for the end date of recurring meetings.  Unfortunately, this is not part of the design.  Your only option is to establish a company guideline or etiquette publication which advises that recurring meetings should only be scheduled for xxx-amount of months --- and hope that people adhere to it.

The publish free/busy setting that you adjusted is only a matter of far in advance that the availability information of your calendar is published for viewing for other persons.  It does not impact their ability to schedule a meeting, it only prevents them from seeing whether or not you are available.

Thank you ..... Will the newer version of Exchange be able to restrict meeting request/appointment periods ?
Exchange 2007 adds controls to resource mailboxes, including the length of meetings and maximum range of recurrence.  Take a look...
