We have a user who some deleted and added files to a directory on mistake. I need to see if we can restore that directory to it's original state three days ago. We are using Sharepoint 2007. If this can be done, can you please include a brief definition of how?

How do I get to this 'object model'? On the server?
You need to have Visual Studio 2005 along with C# has to be installed in Dev server (recommended). I can provide the code if you needed.

1. You can get the files from the recycle bin
2. If you are taking backups, you can restore the site collection backup from three days ago to a temporary site collection, and get the document library from that temp site collection
3. With 3dparty tools like DocAve you can do item level restore of items.
