Hi
I am in the process of testing a Gradual Upgrade from WSS 2.0 to WSS 3.0. I have manged to Upgarde the Sites but can not now log into them!!

When trying to access any of the upgraded SharePoint sites even when using the main administrator account I get an access denied error.

I can log into the WSS 3.0 administration page OK.  Because this is a gradual upgrade I can still loginto the old WSS 2.0 sites OK.

Can anyone suggest Why I can not log into the upgraded WSS 3.0 sites.  Do I need to add back in the permisions to the Upgraded sites somewhere? If so Where.

CXan someone please help.

The front end web server is running Windows 2003 and the backend is SQL 2005 on Windows 2003 server.

Regards

Kevan

make sure your account is listed as the site collection owner in central administration

if you are still not able to open the site, can you post the exact error you get?

Hi

I can not believe it was that simple.  Because this was a test system I had just coppied all the live servers into an isolated test network.  The site owner was down as someone else and when I changed this to the main administrator account that I had been using for doing my upgrades I could log on.

Thank you.

I have another error message in my event logs though that you may be able to help with.  It's to do with alternative mappings?

The error from event viewer is:
