Hello,

we do it like follows:

we pingcheck all ips of the cluster
we check all cluster-service for its state
we check all sql-services for its state
we use W2K8 Monitoring for alerting system/applications/security-logs (Forwarded events) (emailalerting)

hi there thanks for the reply first and foremost

how do you monitor for a failover success or failure?

do you check the services via the virtual or the physical?
