Windows 7 upgraded or fresh install
I need to determine if Windows 7 was installed using an upgrade or a fresh install on a computer. Is there a way to determine if Windows 7 was installed using an upgrade vs. a fresh install?

NGPSoft1--From a command line run SystemInfo and click Enter. A little way down the list that will be generated is "Original Install Date". If that date differs from the date the PC was first put into service, you may have the answer.

There is a windows.old folder. So the existance of this folder definitely means it was an upgrade, right? Are there any other reasons for this folder to exist?

The Orginal Install Date is the date that Windows 7 was installed. But I am unable to determine from the date alone if the Windows 7 install was an upgrade versus a fresh install. Windows Vista was running on this computer before that Original Install Date.
