I want the "Welcome . . ." to be at the very top of the section (see pic),
lined up to the top border of the section on the left.

The <h1> tag makes space above and below it.
Is there a way of getting rid of that space? I still want the font the same <h1> size.
<tr>
<td vAlign="top"><h1 style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0xp; vertical-align:top;">
Welcome to Discount Products!<br />One-Stop-Shopping</h1></td></tr>

thanks

remove  obsolete vAlign="top" in <td> and try to reset padding too in h1 property.
If Welcome is distant too from top, you can try with negative margin-top, like this:
<tr><td>
<h1 style="margin:-10px 0 0 0; padding=0 0 0 0; vertical-align:top;">
Welcome to Discount Products!<br />One-Stop-Shopping</h1></td></tr>

Hi MikeMCSD,

Try this...

<tr>
<td vAlign="top"><h1 style="margin:0px; padding:0px;">
Welcome to Discount Products!<br />One-Stop-Shopping</h1></td></tr>

thanks guys . . setting the padding to zero did it,
plus making the margin -5.
