Map Mac drive to a windows share.

I would like to map a drive for MAC OS workstation to a windows share.
How can I do this?

what version of OS are you using. Tiger, L or SL?

you can do so by going to Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Sharing and turn the sharing on and you are ready.

also, it would be better if you can give your mac a fixed IP.

In finder, Choose the Connect to Server
to Connect to a Windows share use this:
smb://ServerName/ShareName
That will connect you all time, if you browse through the network you may have connection problems sometimes.

if I need to create a mapped drive, for instance V: drive pointing to smb://ServerName/ShareName
what should I do?

drive V: doesn't translate to Mac. There aren't drive letters like on Windows.
