Android USB driver install on Vista 64 Bit

jkockler used Ask the Experts™

I am trying to get the Android 64 bit driver to install on 64 bit vista, but windows will not recognize the driver.  I have the Samsung moment with Android 1.5

I downloaded the android 64 bit usb driver from the sdk developer site, as well as an alternate one that I found.

Followed these steps:

1) Type "bcdedit /set testsigning on" at an admin command prompt
2) Reboot

I have test mode in the corners...

When I point windows to the proper directory, it is not able to install the driver with the following:

Problem Event Name: PnPDriverNotFound
Architecture: x64
Hardware Id: USB\VID_04E8&PID_681C&REV_0222
OS Version: 6.0.6002.
Locale ID: 1033

Is this the one you got the "bcdedit /set testsigning on" idea  from?

Did you try this way?

What my colleague showed me, though, is as follows: Control Panel > System > Hardware
> Device Manager > and somewhere in the list was my Android device with big yellow
question mark (suggesting its status, I guess). Right clicking there showed me a pop-
up window where I could choose Update, which finally worked.

Yes I did try the above link.  However the second link you provided has resolved the issue! I downloaded the "fixed" driver.  Thanks!
