Hi,

1) My friend will be a Network Administrator in Windows Environment within 2 days; but there are some linux servers with the RHEL version 5
2) She asks me what are the Routine activities (in PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT) that she has to pay attention (or to learn quickly) for these Linux servers (RHEL version 5)
3) I knew a little bit of Linux, but not experienced in DAILY LIFE (Production environment)
4) She knows Linux per Theory basis (courses, reading the books, etc)
5) Somebody who has EXPERIENCED in these Linux Environment would help her?
6) Thank you

its will depends, Normally you don't have to touch production server for long unless you have a problem

again, it will depends what running on production server and depends on what kind of job is there

example: I did not touch one of my production server from last 2 years!! except some security updates.

once or twice, i need to kill some job which was hang on their.

and when i started this job, i did not know anything about linux , i was windows guy, as days go, i picked up linux over windows, now i dont like windows, if i could, i would of though windows from my company!!!

tell your friends, if she knows basic commands that will be head start. and tell her to learn quickly whats running on the server,
what services running on their. then learn about those service

linux is 100% easy then windows!!!

tell her to make google as best friend

any problem, type it  in google, she will get loads of example
