I have three HP 2910al POE switches and plan to connect all three via the HP 10Gbit interconnect modules that can be installed on the units. Can someone explain the best way to accomplish this? What modules are required and how they should be configured?

I believe the 10gb GBICs are fiber only so you would need fiber jumpers.  Generally I connect multiple stackables to a central switch that has the bulk of my resources on it (servers, routers, etc.) that way it splits up the traffic to seperate ports instead of cascading through an intermediary.  If you only are using one VLAN you should just be able to connect and go.  Otherwise if using multiple VLANS then you should set the 10gb ports to be tagged on all VLANS (trunked in Cisco terminology).
HP ProCurve 10-GbE al Interconnect Kit (J9165A) Would do the trick.  This kit comes with 2 modules and 2 cables.

if you buy 3 of these kits, 2 modules per switch, then cable them 1-2, 1-3, 2-3
