To give a little background on the server. There are 2 off the shelf products installed, one which is refered to in the error localhost\SPECTOR360 I do not need to configure. The other 'Personnel' I do. I can only access the that through the management studio.
Is this some sort of protection that the SPECTOR360 manufacturer has put on to prevent viewing their database design but is interfering with me trying to view the Personnel one?
Perhaps connected, when I try to add new administrators through the Add new administrator option I get -
TITLE: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
-------------------------- ----
The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'sp_addsrvrolemember', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'.
-------------------------- ----
I can add just the personnel database but this doesn't seem to help me configure the features.
Any suggestions?
